I shot Victoria Beckham

Ah, behold the power of a clickbait title. Now that you’re here, let me elaborate.

I did in fact shoot Victoria Beckham – and we’ll get to that in a minute.

Apart from the daily “how are you” from all directions, one of the most frequent questions I get asked is “… but what do you actually do for a living?”. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen the madness that is my life – where I’m constantly hasting to attend multiple events, major photoshoots and occasionally sitting at my desk with almost as many screens in front of me as when Batman was trying to locate the Joker in the Dark Knight.

I work in social media, and that includes keeping track of multiple vendors, and when I say multiple I mean hundreds, creative concepting, planning and execution. The severely  lean team I work with are rarely all in the office, as you’ll find us covering major events on Instagram Stories (like the Dior event where I met Maria Grazia Chiuri), attending photoshoots (like that time I shot the $10K Saint Laurent rhinestone boots), visiting showrooms of designers (like that time I shot at the Carolina Herrera, Jason Wu and Marchesa showrooms in the same day) and then everything in between.

I realize that it’s hard to explain what I do without sounding like I’m a bragging douche. While I’m proud of my work – shooting celebrities and designers, working closely with big names is in fact a major part of my job. Yesterday, I attended an event celebrating the LIM College class of 2017, and when friends and faculty asked if I was coming straight from work, my response was “oh yes, I’m coming straight from an event with Jeff Koons”. Major douche alert right there.

So how does Posh Spice tie in to all of this? She’s a friend of Saks Fifth Avenue, and as we carry her beautiful line – she came to the NY Flagship to talk about her collection, motherhood and life with fashion director Roopal Patel. So in order to promote this event, we did a Q&A with VB, and as this project had my name written all over it, I got to ask the questions and shoot our conversation.

More douchey bragging coming your way soon. In the meantime, enjoy the videos of Victoria Beckham at Saks Fifth Avenue.
