The Bergdorf Goodman Way

I can’t think of a better time of being in NYC than fall. Any number of layers works, and the stores are filled with coats for all occasions. Everyone’s happy because they’re not all sweaty and disgusting anymore. However, you can’t get far without hearing someone cough or have the sniffles. While ignoring the roaming sickness, it’s quite something to stroll around the same area weekly and see the leaves change colors. We have passed the midway point in the semester, which means we’re counting days until Thanksgiving and the finals!

However, there are still over 40 days to go, and in the meantime we need to pass our days somehow. My wonderful roommate spent the weekend in Utah, and we decided that the catching up after our first weekend apart should be a proper event. So where to go other than Bergdorf Goodman? We met for afternoon tea; a full meal with exquisite tea, sandwiches, scones and sweets.

It seemed like it was everyone’s birthday there today, as there were desserts with candles everywhere. Even Linda Fargo, sitting a few tables away, was celebrating something. While noting that the day was rather celebratory, Mari got quite the surprise when our server came with a dessert with a candle for her as well. While not being a fan of celebrating her birthday, I decided to have celebrations on days completely unrelated to her actual day. She was presented with her first present the beginning of this month, today, and we’ll be attending the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Cabaret, Book of Mormon, Hedwig and the Angry Inch (again) as well as a few other surprises over the next few weeks. When living in New York, why not take advantage of the endless possibilities?
